For your first two sessions we recommend wearing jogging bottoms and a t-shirt. Where possible the club will lend a Judogi jacket and belt

A Judogi is the Judo suit that you wear when partaking in Judo
Judogi's range from entry level club judogi through to IJF approved judogi's used by participants in the Olympics and World championships. Entry level judogi suitable for the level of judo you or your children will underake can be purchased directly through the club and typically cost between £25 and £45 depending upon size.
Training fees are charged monthly on a standing order basis. The monthly fee is cancellable at anytime, there are no minimum terms. Mogera Tani Judo Club charge in this way as the costs involved in running the club exist monthly regardless of when individuals train.
Annual British Judo Association licence (provides insurance, allows you to grade and compete) available through the BJA website (required to be in place after trial period).
Grading Fee's - we do up to three gradings a year to allow time in the grade and progression in Judo.
We recommend that you arrive and be ready to go onto the mat at least 5 minutes before the start of the lesson
For children we recommend arriving dressed in your Judogi ready to partake in the lesson
For female players, please wear a t-shirt under your judo gi
For seniors, although no specific changing room, an area to get changed is usually available
There are no showers
The club is a friendly and welcoming place. Each player (Judoka) and instructor (Sensei) follows the judo moral code
Parents are welcome to stay and watch, however there are some rules that need to mitigate distraction to children:
No calling out to your children
No coaching from the side
Do not walk onto the mats at any time
No loud talking with other parents or guardians to mitigate distraction
No foul or obscene language
No offering drinks as adequate drink hydration time is built into class plan
No food or drinks to be consumed anywhere near the mats
No photography recording of class activity without the explicit consent provided by head coach
No smoking, vaping or consumption of alcohol in the Judo hall
There is free parking at Leigh Village Hall, for players partaking in a Judo lesson and for parents and responsible persons dropping off and picking up players
